A funnel of perspective. As someone who has basically built their life around music, to find an app that ingests the backlog of every song I have streamed on my Spotify account to then categorize and visualize my habits was a big deal. There was so much to discover -- yet I didn't expect the most reflection to come from 4.05%.

Now, I should preface, this percentage isn't entirely accurate, as I have 1) listened to music via different platforms/mediums that are not considered 2) have an old Spotify account from my primary school years that I am locked out of (but am in the process of recovering!!!) However, even with all of the exclusions added, this percentage wouldn't be too much larger... and that really makes me think.

Some of my favorite memories are from live music events. Some of my best friends were made through shared listening habits. Some of my favorite songs are tattooed in my skin permanently. Some. What an interesting word.

What is the value of some? Some isn't all, but does that make it any less worth?

May be some, but I moved 900 miles away to go to college for a degree that revolves around the business of music. May be some, but I left the country for the first time to understand and digest international music in it's domestic environment. May be some, but my dream career innovates the industry that relies on music production to go 'round. May be some, but it's a large part of what I will become. May be some, but that 4.05% of life listened has already taken me so far.

All of this data, but no one answer as to how I got here. But let me clarify -- although there is no flat out answer, I am brought to a place equally as valuable: a place of reflection.

And, yes, it may have cost me $12.99 -- but this plateau of self-awareness is just what is needed before I take on my next adventure. And it excites me to know I have an app keeping tabs on all the growth to come. Through a form of expression I care about most. My own little soundtrack to accompany the other sources of greatness :)
